TOPIC: THE BARRIER TO GRACE
Scripture :James 4: 6. But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter with the God of all grace! Today, we intend to answer the question why some people hang around grace carriers yet their lives is nothing to write home about.

It baffled me for a long time as how men who should be walking in certain dimensions of grace by virtue of their proximity to a man/woman of grace, yet there’s no tangible impact, until the Holy Ghost made me to understand that men can create a barricade that prevents the flow of grace from carrier to desired recipient. It is not enough to desire grace, attitude is crucial. One of such negative attitude that can stop the flow of grace is pride.

Pride is a barrier that can block the flow of grace from one person to another. It also limits those who have once had a taste of grace, from receiving continuous flow of grace.

There are two types of pride :

1. The speaking pride: Everyone could attest to it that you are proud and even you will once in a while know! It comes with success, beauty or getting results in life.
2. Silent pride :This is more dangerous because nobody is saying it, even you yourself cannot assume you are proud. The only person that knows you are proud is God! Even when God confronts you with it, you are still not willing to agree until God shows you the scene of your pride. Beloved if you are offended or angry because someone confronted you with your pride, it is already a pointer that there is silent pride. It is exhibited by most Christians including pastors! This is why you feel angry when you are not given your recognition in a function. It is the reason why you feel more anointed than everyone else! It is why you feel you should not close your eyes while someone else is leading the prayer. It makes you feel more spiritual than every other person because you are given spiritual gifts.

Beloved if you don’t take a cry unto God to uncover your heart, you may never know there is silent pride and it may hinder you from accessing your next level in life.

How does pride becomes a barrier to receiving grace?
Pride in the heart creates a blockage by lifting you far above the one you should have received grace from. You will remember that water does not flow uphill, it must be downhill. So if you are up and your grace carrier is down, how can grace flow? Just like water does not flow up to meet you so also grace does not flow upward. It has to be downward, therefore be humble!
Philippians 2: 5. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Pride is one thing that will not allow you to create a channel for easy flow of grace from the carrier to you. Even though you are saying amen to some prayers inside you there is something fighting the flow of grace. Please kill pride before it strangulates you because the devil will soon remind you that the grace you are hanging around is not working for you. At that time anger and bitterness will set in combined with frustrations.

God’s Spirit is the supervisor of grace distribution. Anywhere God sees prides, it reminds Him of Lucifer, hence God Himself will ensure you never access grace.

Beloved, if you need grace remain humble, you may be father to many sons yet remain a child to your God! After receiving grace, it takes humility to maintain its flow on consistent basis! Don’t block that opening for grace to flow into your life with pride, open up yourself for more grace by destroying pride today!

Remember this : Heaven is real and hell is real, give your heart to Christ today and you will not regret it tomorrow!

• Father thank you for your word to me today,
• Lord, I repent of every pride in me and even of the tendency to be proud tomorrow Lord deal with it now in Jesus name.
  Prophetic Declaration :
• I prophesy the release of the spirit of humility to take over your life completely in the name of Jesus.
• Receive grace to make adjustment to your life for continuous flow of grace in Jesus name.
