Scripture:Zechariah 12: 10. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Some time ago, I intended to pray, but was finding it difficult to flow, so I decided to lie down meditating on the goodness of God upon my life, from there I burst into singing and what followed was thanksgiving and on and on, prayers upon prayers because God decided to pour out the Spirit of grace and supplication. Hence today, we shall examine this grace for supplication.

Grace for supplication is the supply of the Holy Spirit that is poured upon one to enable him/her make supplication effortlessly.

Romans 8: 26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

How does it do this?

a. By supplying us with the prayer language (prayer vocabulary) so that we don’t run out of what to say.
b. By supplying us strength to pray without getting tired or wearied easily.

Our anchor scripture(Zech.12:10) refers to it as “THE SPIRIT OF GRACE AND SUPPLICATION “! So we can say that grace is a Spirit. Hence the title, the Spirit of grace.

What exactly is the Spirit of grace?

To understand the Spirit of grace we must understand that grace is God’s unmerited favour, God’s kindness that we are not qualified for.

Furthermore, grace is God’s ability! Grace is the supernatural supplies of the Spirit. Hence grace is anointing /unction. Therefore, the Spirit of grace is the Holy Spirit! (Heb. 10:29)

The Holy Spirit is responsible for the out pouring of the Spirit of grace like one pouring water on you. If you don’t know the Holy Spirit, you don’t know anything yet about the grace of God.

The Holy Spirit is the grace of God in the heart of every man that produces conviction that leads to repentance. He is also the one responsible for the supply of strength for any service in the body of Christ. Do you desire grace?

Then I introduce you to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. To ignore the Holy Spirit is to be bankrupt of grace.

Our anchor scripture reveals, that the Spirit of grace and supplication go together. In other words, when the Spirit of grace is on ground there must be supplication!

What then is supplication?

Supplication, means “to plead humbly.” It is an aspect of prayer where we make demands. The difference between supplication and other prayers is that other prayers could just be thanksgiving without any request but in supplication, you make request.

It is with supplication that we have been given the privilege to decide our fate in the court of heaven. In supplication Jesus said:

John 14: 14. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 16: 24. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

It is with supplication we put an end to every form of worry:

Philippians 4: 6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

So therefore when the Spirit of grace is on ground there can never be room for worry because the Spirit of grace births supplication and supplication is the panacea for worry.

On the other hand the absence of the Spirit of grace equals abundance of worry.

Remember this : Heaven is real and Hell is real, your choice today determines where you will spend eternity tomorrow.

Prayer points :

  • Father, thank you for your word to me today,
  • Lord I repent of every worry as I receive the Spirit of Grace and supplication in Jesus name

Prophetic Declaration :

  • I prophesy the release of the Spirit of grace and supplication let it pour out on you in the name of Jesus.
  • You are taking the devil by surprise as you stand on your feet to make your supplication known to God.

From your brother Alex
God bless you.
