For in him [Christ] dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9

ln Colossians 1:19 the word of God says, “for it pleased the Father that is Him should all the fullness dwell;” the ‘Him’ being referred to in this portion of the scripture is Christ. It was the Father’s delight, the joy of His heart for all of Himself to dwell in Christ.
In our scriptural text, the word says, “for in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” This is talking about the man Jesus who once walked this earth in His person; when He walked the earth, all of God: His nature, power, and glory dwelled fully in Him. In the EasyEnglish translation, it says, “the whole nature of God himself lives in Christ, in his body.” In the Contemporary English Version it says, “God lives fully in Christ.” The whole of the Godhead lived and tabernacled in Christ in a human body, that was why He went about doing good, and healing all the people who were oppressed by the the devil, it was because God was with Him.
Over two thousand years ago, God lived in the body of the man Jesus, the Christ. Jesus died, and was buried in the grave, meaning His body laid in the grave; but on the third day God raised Him up from the dead and changed His body to a glorified body, His body by which He continued to live both in heaven and on earth today. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:27, “Now ye are the body of Christ…;” who are the people being referred to here? It’s the body of the Saints of God, the Church; we are the glorified body of Christ, and just the same way the Father was pleased to live fully in Jesus bodily when He walked the earth in His person, He is pleased to live fully in His Church which is the body of Christ.
It is good to know that, as the Church of Jesus Christ, we are the extension of heaven. The Bible says Christ is seated in heaven, but according to the scripture, we are His body; because His body is on earth, He Himself lives on earth because He has to be wherever is body is, meaning He brought heaven to the earth through His Church, that’s why the Church is a glorified body, the Saints of God. God lives fully in us; He lives fully in you; He lives fully in me because you and I are His Church, His body.
