5 Ways to Succeed in the Work of Ministry
Praise the name of the Lord, both from now and forever, amen and amen, today I am writing to Pastors, Church Leaders and Executes, those in various arm of ministry and spiritual stewardship, callings and gifting of God are in different fold, and it is to the end that we can serve our generation and serve God effectively, both for earthly reward and in eternity, God is looking for those that will serve him whole heartedly, with boldness, focus and tenacity.
I was inspired to write this article, considering the level of fall, and calamity befallen men of God in this generation, and how the devil seems to be rejoicing at their destruction, it is never God’s desire that men should fall cheaply like that, and we can only help the upcoming generation to get it right on time, in their divine assignment.

Below, are the few points I believe would be of tremendous help to stand in these last days,
# Be SPIRITUAL : This is not an option, it is a necessity, every believer child of God stay safe by spirituality, and when you become a Pastor, the necessity of Spirituality is doubled, because if you must give People life, then you must carry abundantly sufficient life yourself. To be SPIRITUALLY MINDED is to remain safe and maintain relevance, it is important that this aspect be taken very seriously, God is a spirit and to walk and work with God, you must be Spiritual enough, it is a progressive level and we must keep it on the increase, the Bible says;
Romans 8: 6 – 10;
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
I always tell Pastors, “You are a Minister, you are a Priest, you are not a celebrity, don’t be carried away with the noise from your audience, followers and congregation, your calling is more important than their shouting, so you must get things right, spirituality Is the first safety measure for every Pastor, and Spirituality here; means, “been filled with the fullness of God” and how would you stay fit? By spending quality time with God always, that is how to stay fit, because the more you spend time with God, the more of God you become, the more you spend time with men, the more of Men, you become!

#Be Focused : This second point is actually a byproduct of the first Point, because when you are really Spiritual, you will be focused, most of the distractions that people encounter in our world today, is because their mind as been beclouded and the only way out is to be Spiritual, it gives you a sound mind and the eyes of clarity for vision smooth running, this is very important.
The Bible says; Matthew 6 : 21 – 13;
21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22The eye is the lamp of the body. If your vision is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your vision is poor, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Without Focus, there will be no impact, and the fullness of your calling will not manifest, that is why everyone must tarry in the secret place before God to understand his or her calling, before settling out, when you know what God has called you to do, your uniqueness will come out! We are a product of our decision and spiritual leaders must wait on God keenly to be led to take the right decision always, this is very important, decision goes a long way to determine our safety, and our focus! Every Pastor must be able to identify the minor and major events of their life and ministry, you must give priority to the most important and significant task always.
#Be Prayerful : This is the first call of every man God wants to use, Jesus showed us the blueprint many times in the bible, he leaves the people, the city, the disciples, the comfort and spend quality time praying; it is not Possible to be used of God without prayer, for a Pastor, praying is a lifestyle, you must connect with heaven always, if you must impact the earth, this is so crucial, The Bible says; Matthew 26:41 – “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. It is the desire of the enemy that as many servants of God should fall into temptation, it is a major trap and it confronts them daily, the only safety measure is to engage prayer daily, consistently without ceasing, the bible says – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. You can see the Bible admonishes us to pray without ceasing? It is the first calling and obligation you must fulfill before God, if you must move the mountains and the storms of life and set the pace in your generation by serving the people of God and establishing God’s kingdom on the Earth. When a Pastor can no longer spend hours in prayer, fall is already at the corner; the prayer keeps the enemy back and keeps the devil totally out of your domain.
The Degree to which you can connect with Heaven is the degree to which you can impact the earth and be a solution (saviours) to your generation.
#Be Watchful : The Bible says, Matthew 26:41 – “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. This showed us that Prayerfulness and Watchfulness goes together, they are brothers and sister, you can’t be prayerful and not be watchful, because the beautiful thing that happens when you pray is that, you are changed, it is not just an avenue to experience answers, but it is a medium to be changed, you are enveloped in the glory of God’s presence, you are impacted with freshness, and Grace to run your assignment, prayer precedes, sensitivity, and sensitivity gives birth to watchfulness, because the devil as devise so many schemes to bring men down, we need spiritual sensitivity to stay watchful and keep the enemy back completely.
For instance; not everyone in a church are sheep, watchfulness, will help you identify when an agent of the devil as entered, some of the issues of pastors sleeping with their members and all kinds of scandals, is because they refuses to be sensitive and watchful, I pray for everyone reading this, may God grant you the Grace to remain permanently sensitive and watchful in your life and calling in Jesus name.
#Be ‘God First’ Minded : This is another winning key, You are not standing with a man, you are standing with God and when it comes to decision making, the God First Mentality will help you to permanently please God with your life always, and this the real demand of the priestly office, ability to please God always and to raise a people in the fear of God, The Bible says; Luke 11: 2 – 3 [2] And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. [3] Give us day by day our daily bread. We must let our own will die and let his own will alone prevail always, this is how to succeed in the work of Ministry, sometimes you need to let go of personal things, so that the will of God can prevail in the life of the saints.
Every Servant of God must make up his mind, to be a God representative on the earth, declaring his works with all boldness and confidence, this is the true calling, when it becomes a lifestyle to pursue God’s will, then reaping the end time harvest and to disciple Nations for Jesus will happen by default. God must be exalted, Jesus must be lifted high, when this happens with your calling, then your assignment is indeed a successful one, remember the Bible says; John 12: 32 – And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This is the agenda for this end time, it is to the end that Jesus be lifted up, be reveal and be made manifest to the dying world, through our lives, callings and ministry.
The Grace not to fall this assignment shall be given unto everyone in Jesus mighty name!
